Acquisition of theological education, especially among Pentecostal churches, had been looked down upon as non-essential to both the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ and the ministry of a local church.  One of the outcomes of such misconception is that today many Christians are confused about what to believe as they are daily bombarded with falsehood through “junk” Christian books, magazines and charlatan preachers on the electronic media.  Sound biblical interpretation and principles have been put aside and replaced  with whatever the “man of God” feels the Spirit is leading him to do whether these can stand the test of Scripture or not.  It is no wonder then that ignorance has prevailed in the church today and false doctrines are gaining firm roots.

Furthermore, in this 21st century, we can sense a serious shortage of seasoned, well-trained workforce for the Kingdom of God who would be able to impact the society with the truth concerning Jesus Christ and His relevance to man’s needs today.

It was the burden for these and related issues in the Body of Christ that gave birth to the Redeemed People’s Theological College (REPETHEC) in 1994.  Since its inception, it has served the ministry needs of several denominations within Jos metropolis and beyond.  It is a full-fledged theological institution equipped to cater for the needs of the church of both Pentecostal and evangelical persuasions.

WHO DO WE TRAIN?
REPETHEC is committed to training:

  1. Full-time ministers of the Gospel (pastors, evangelists, etc) who are already serving in the ministry and wish to improve their ministry skills or acquire a theological education.
  2. Christians contemplating going into the ministry but presently are in secular employments and desire to be adequately equipped.
